Startup Camp Program

Where professionals support entrepreneurs in making their business dream come true

Startup Camp Program brings together entrepreneurs with professionals. It aims at combining the experiences and skills of professionals with the business idea of entrepreneurs to foster social entrepreneurship.

Learn from professionals how to make your business grow!

How does it work?

Entrepreneurs in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia will be matched with a learning partner. The learning partner is an experienced local or international professional and will support the entrepreneur in implementing the business idea.

The program aims at empowering individuals to turn their dreams into tangible businesses and create job opportunities in their communities.

Matching is based on the English level and expertise of the entrepreneur. The teams will work during a 4-months part-time period on turning the entrepreneur's vision of a business into reality.

Startup Camp Program is offered with the support from Rising Tide Foundation and StartupAcademy.

About the program

Turn your vision into reality and implement your business idea together with an experienced learning partner!

Entrepreneurs in Asia will go through a 4-month part-time experiential learning program composed of 5 modules:

Module 1: Startup Camp (5 days, on-site)

During a 5-day Startup Camp, the entrepreneurs work on their vision and ideas. They are introduced to design thinking and lean startup methodologies to define the problem they would like to solve, develop a prototype and test it among their peers. The entrepreneurs develop a first draft of the business model and impact chain and learn how to pitch their idea by telling a story. On the last day, they are matched with a local or international learning partner who will accompany them on the 4-month journey to turn their vision of a business into reality, based on the English level and expertise required.

Module 2: Virtual Learning Partnership for Business Plan Development (2 months)

During a self-guided structured virtual learning program, the entrepreneurs join hands with their learning partner to test the prototype among the envisioned target group. Based on the results, the learning partners develop a business plan with the intention to raise funds. The search for potential investors forms part of the learning partnership as well.

Module 3: Feedback or Pitch Module (2 days on-site)

Prior to the module, executive summaries will be sent to potential investors. The entrepreneurs will present their ideas to raise funds on the first day. The second day is used to define the follow ups after the pitch and align with the learning partner on the objectives for the second part of the learning partnership. If investment is granted, BOOKBRIDGE takes the role of the local investment manager for the respective investor. The entrepreneurs signs a loan agreement for a soft loan over a 10-year period. If investment was not granted, the learning partners prepare for a second round of pitching until the evaluation and debrief module.

Module 4: Virtual Learning Partnership for Implementation (2 months)

The entrepreneurs will work together with the learning partners to implement the business plan according to the milestones defined with the investor.

Module 5: Evaluation & Debrief Module (2 days on-site)

The entrepreneurs will meet after the completion of the program to evaluate the impact of the program and the lessons learnt. The learning partners officially hand over the responsibility for the business created to the entrepreneur.

Following the Startup Camp, we offer a comprehensive life long learning program to ensure long-term commitment and impact created by the entrepreneurs.

The offerings include:

  • regular update calls and meeting with the entrepreneur

  • ad-hoc support in case of urgent challenges in running the business

  • continuous training and best practice exchange with other entrepreneurs
