Lighting Fires: How the BOOKBRIDGE Family is Creating Impact Around the World

Our global BOOKBRIDGE family came together at the recent BOOKBRIDGE Summit to reconnect, reflect, and explore how they can continue creating impact in their own environments. Inspired by the idea that meaningful change happens when many people “light small fires” around the world, BOOKBRIDGE launched the new “Light Your Fire” Award to encourage authentic stories of action, leadership, and social impact.
In a world that often feels divided, uncertain, and overwhelming, it is easy to believe that meaningful change must come from governments, institutions, or extraordinary individuals. But at BOOKBRIDGE, we believe something different. We believe change begins much smaller. It starts with one person who cares. One conversation. One courageous step. One small fire.
End of April, our global BOOKBRIDGE family — social entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, coaches, investors, and alumni — came together online for our BOOKBRIDGE Summit. The intention was simple:
To reconnect. To reflect. And to shape what comes next.
What emerged throughout the session was a powerful realization:
We do not create impact by building one giant fire. We create impact by lighting thousands of small ones.
Across the world, these fires are already burning. In Sri Lanka, teams are creating new livelihood opportunities with tea estate communities. In India, professionals are working alongside visually impaired children and rural farming families to improve job and life chances. In Brazil, leaders are co-creating opportunities for people who are too often excluded from economic participation. Across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, members of our community are stepping forward to create change where they are.
During the Summit, participants reflected together:
Where are we already creating impact?
Where do we see opportunities for new fires to emerge?
What is holding us back?
And what support do we need from one another?
The result was deeply inspiring. New ideas. New collaborations. New commitments. New fires ready to be lit. And perhaps most importantly: a renewed sense that none of us are alone in this journey.
🔥 Introducing the “Light Your Fire” Award
To continue this momentum, we are launching a new initiative across the BOOKBRIDGE Family: The BOOKBRIDGE “Light Your Fire” Award. We invite every member of our global family to submit a short video (60–90 seconds) sharing how they are creating impact in their environment.
Not polished. Not perfect. But real.
We want to see the small actions that create meaningful change:
A conversation that opened a new door
A project that empowered others
A moment of courage
A fire being lit somewhere in the world
Stories inspire action. Action creates impact. Impact changes lives.
And every fire that becomes visible has the power to light another one.
